Minutes of a Meeting of the Parish Council
held on Thursday 24th April 2025
At Walkhampton Community Hall
Councillors present: Cllrs F Glanville, Paskins, Armon, T Rowe, Clifford, M Rowe, K Stribley and R Glanville.
Also present: Katharine Griffiths (Parish Clerk) and WDBC Cllr West.
Absent: Cllrs, Milne, Burbage, Wills, France and Radmore.
The meeting was opened by Cllr F Glanville at 7.30pm
- Apologies for Absence.
Apologies were received and accepted from Cllrs Milne, Burbage, Wills, France and Radmore.
- Declarations of Interest.
Cllrs F Glanville and R Glanville declared a personal interest in planning application 0143/25.
- Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on 27th March 2025
The minutes were agreed by the council as a true record of the meeting.
- Matters arising from the Minutes 27th March 2025
Comments have been received with regard to the planning application 0099/25. The EHO had no concerns with regard to noise.
- Reports from outside bodies
- WDBC Cllr West gave a brief update, all is fairly quiet at the moment, as the election is in the pre-election period of sensitivity.
- DCC Cllr Sanders was not present.
- To Consider producing an Emergency Plan for the parish and forming a sub-committee.
Cllr Stribley will also help with the emergency plan later in the year along with Cllr Armon and Milne.

0143/25 Erection of garage at Back Cottage, Walkhampton, Yelverton, Devon, PL20 6JX
The application was discussed Cllr T Rowe proposed that the council support the application, as it would remove a car from parking on the road. this was seconded by Cllr Clifford and agreed by the members present.
Cllr F Glanville and R Glanville did not take part in the vote.

It was proposed by Cllr R Glanville that the payments be made, this was seconded by Cllr Armon and agreed by the members present.

The meeting went well, with a number of the requests being agreed.

The 10k race will be on the 31st May. In the late afternoon/early evening.
The clerk will contact DCC again with regard to the road closures.

The clerk will look into options for the noticeboards.
- Highway matters
Highways demarcation lines should be being renewed as part of a parish wide scheme.

- Correspondence
A letter has been received from Plasterdown Parish Council with regard to engraving Ward bridge to mark the boundary between the two parishes. It was noted that the sign that was installed by Burrator PC has been removed. It was agreed that Plasterdown PC could go ahead as long as it was on their side of the bridge.
